Call of the Tiger

Day 1

Jet Airways overnight flight from Heathrow to Mumbai.

Day 2

Transfer to Trident Hotel for 1 night.

Days 3 – 4

Transfer to airport for Jetlite flight to Nagpur. 2 night stay in Pench Jungle Camp, full board. Next day enjoy a morning and evening game drive through the park and your first opportunity to spot the elusive tiger.

Days 5 – 6

Continue by road to Kanha National Park, the setting for Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book and one of India's finest wildlife reserves (5 hours). Stay two nights at Kanha Jungle Lodge, full board. Next day enjoy two game drives in the huge wild lands of Kanha National Park, well known for its significant tiger population and the rare Indian Wolf.

Days 7 – 9

Next onto the famous Bandhavgarh National Park (6 hours) and a three night stay at Bandhav Vilas, full board. The following day enjoy morning and evening game drives in the park and possibly the best opportunity for spotting tigers as Bandhavgarh boasts amongst the highest population of the animals anywhere in India, as well as a multitude of other impressive beasts including panthers and leopards. The following day is at leisure to relax and enjoy your jungle surroundings or to take optional drives in the park.

Day 10 – 11

Head away from the national parks and north to Khajuraho. Check in for a two night stay at the Taj Chandela and spend the following morning exploring the UNESCO World Heritage Site temples built by the Chandela emperors that are particularly famed for their erotic sculptures.

Day 12 – 13

Leave Khajuraho to visit historic, riverside Orchha with its huge palace-fort. Continue on to Jhansi (4 hours) and transfer to the Shatabadhi Express Train to Agra (2˝ hours) for a two night stay at the Jaypee Palace. Next morning, explore India’s most famous landmark and perhaps the greatest monument to love, the Taj Mahal, followed by a trip to the impressive Agra Fort.

Day 14

Continue north to Dehli (5 hours) with an afternoon tour of Old and New Delhi before checking in to the Le Meridien for an overnight stay.

Day 15

Explore Dehli in the morning before your Jet Airways flight to Heathrow, arriving later the same day.
